Elves' Chasm
Elves' Chasm is a famous waterfall in the Grand Canyon. Just a short way up a tributary from the Colorado river, it's easy access. This shot was taken during our midday stop for lunch. The pool at the base is swimmable and you can actually get up behind the waterfall and jump into the pool.
Rower Silhouette
Through all four years of high school, I was on the crew team as a coxswain. There were times where, for whatever reason, I was in the coach's launch instead of a shell for practice. This came from one of those times. I was going to miss the next regatta so the coach wanted to get the boat used to a new coxswain.
Irony at its Finest
If you aren't aware of what the background of this picture is, it's the Vietnam War memorial in Washington, DC. On memorial day, no less. I took my camera and wandered Arlington national cemetery and visited some of the memorials for the day. This is one of the many interesting things I found. This shot isn't staged, it's just the way I found it.
Avalanche Territory
This is an example of one of those times that bringing my camera along turns out for the better. This was a hike to Chasm Lake on Longs Peak. Right towards the end, we went from hiking high wind, boulder-riddled terrain into the depression in the mountain formed by the lake. Now we were on steep, windy, snowy terrain. This guy was pretty adventurous, all by himself.
Lightning at Home
This is a shot taken off the balcony of this apartment. Looking south-west while a storm comes through yields great cloud movement, since that's where our weather comes from. This was more of a lightning storm than a rain storm. Lightning was striking every few seconds, consistently.
Up and running
So, the site's online (again, finally). It is now fully functional. The gallery format might change over time but the site will stay pretty much the same overall.
